Journey Back to Uganda Embracing Faith Conversations and Kingdom Living

As I prepare to return to Uganda, I feel a blend of excitement and nostalgia. It has been too long since I immersed myself in the vibrant culture, enjoyed profound conversations, and engaged with in person discipleship with the children I’ve come to love. Those long discussions over scripture have always filled my heart with joy, helping us discover our identities in the Word and understand how to live a kingdom life here on earth.

The anticipation is building. Flights are booked, and I have started organizing housing, transport, and ministry efforts. The thrill of going back to a place that feels like home is overwhelming. It prompts me to reflect on the wonderful journey ahead.

In the last week, I've felt encouraged to embrace the joy of walking with God. Remember the words from Nehemiah 8:10: “The joy of the Lord is your strength”? This joy isn’t just a passing feeling. It's a deep assurance that God is with us, guiding us through every season. As I prepare for this next chapter, I eagerly anticipate what God has planned for us—both today and in the future.

The importance of community and support has been heavy on my mind. I am reaching out to you, dear friends, to pray for the work ahead. Currently, I face the uncertainty of being in another country without a job to support myself. This challenge weighs on me, but I hold onto Matthew 6:33, which reassures us that God will meet our needs as we seek Him first.

In this season of preparation, I am seeking God’s guidance on who will join me in this journey. I am looking for partners in prayer, financial support, and relational connections. The body of Christ is designed to work together. I believe that through collaboration, we can significantly impact the lives of those we serve.

When I consider the conversations I will have with the kids, I feel filled with hope. Each discussion over scripture is a chance to explore our identities in Christ. Romans 12:2 teaches us to “not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” This transformation is essential in a place like Uganda, where challenges come in many forms.

The beauty of discipleship lies in the relationships we build. Through these connections, we share our struggles, encourage one another, and celebrate victories. I am eager to reconnect with these relationships, to listen to the stories of the children, and to engage in their journeys of faith.

As I prepare for my return, I am reminded of the importance of being present. In a world full of distractions, it’s easy to lose focus on what truly matters. Matthew 6:34 is a gentle reminder: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” This verse encourages me to focus on the present moment and trust that God will provide for our needs.

In the weeks to come, I will share updates on our plans and how you can get involved. Your prayers and support are invaluable as we embark on this journey together. I look forward to seeing how God moves in the hearts of those we encounter and how He will use us to bring hope and healing to the community.

As I wrap up this post, I want to express my gratitude for each of you who have walked beside me in this journey. Your encouragement and support mean everything to me. I find reassurance in 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” Let’s continue uplifting each other as we pursue our God-given callings.

Reflecting on my journey back to Uganda, I realize it is more than a return to a physical place. It’s about embracing faith, engaging in meaningful conversations, and living out the kingdom life. I invite you to join me in this adventure. Pray for the work ahead and trust in God’s provision. Together, we can make a difference in the lives we touch and experience the joy of walking with Him seeing His kingdom come here on earth.

Thank you for being a vital part of this journey. I can’t wait to share more with you as we step into this new season together.
